Stiffening of Thin Cylindrical Silo Shell Against Buckling Loads

Buckling is one of the important criteria to be checked in silo design. Buckling behaviour of silos can be analyzed with finite element methods or analytical methods which are developed for cylindrical shells. In this study, buckling analysis of a silo which is also supporting another structure is analyzed with eigenvalue solution by using finite element method and one of these analytical methods. The results obtained by using these two methods are compared.
